Kathmandu. The World Bank Group has appointed a South Korean banking expert as director of markets and counterparty risk. Min Ji Nah, who works at the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), an affiliate of the World Bank Group, has been appointed to this position.
She currently serves as the head of credit for state-owned enterprises and reinsurance. In her new role, she will manage market risk related to assets at the World Bank Group and oversee counterparty risk for investment activities involving major banks and other financial institutions.
Min joined MIGA in 2017 as a senior credit risk officer and was promoted to head of department in 2021. Previously, she has worked at private financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs, Standard Chartered and UBS.
With this appointment, she becomes the fourth Korean to hold the position of director of the World Bank Group. In addition, the number of Koreans working in senior positions in the World Bank Group, including Kim Sang-bu (Vice President of Digital and AI), has reached two.
