Arrest warrant issued against chairman of Nepal Investment Mega Bank

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Investment Mega Bank (NIBL) has issued arrest warrants against its chairman Prithvi Bahadur Pandey and other directors of the bank. The police had gone to the court on Friday to get an arrest order against them. The police are now searching for them.

It is understood that the police have sought permission from the court to issue arrest warrants against a total of 11 people.TAG_OPEN_div_13 Prithvi Bahadur Pandey is currently abroad. Except for Madan Acharya, all other operators are out of contact with the police. Acharya has already appeared in the CIB. He claimed that although he attended the meeting, he did not sign the decision dissentingly.

The police are investigating all the directors and two managers of the bank.TAG_OPEN_div_11 Bhupendra Bahadur Bhandari, the then chairman of Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), has been arrested in connection with the case. The bank accounts of all those who have been issued arrest warrants have been frozen.
