Kathmandu. Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited has distributed 25 white sticks. The bank, in collaboration with Sarvodaya Project, distributed 25 units of white canes to visually impaired, economically poor and socially backward communities.
Sushil Poudel, Head of Branding and CSR of the Bank, distributed a white cane to the visually impaired. Chief of the Bank’s Compliance Department, Khumnath Bhusal, was also present on the occasion.
For blind people, the white cane is not only a means of mobility, but also an important foundation of self-reliance, security and self-confidence. Branding and CSR Head of the Bank, Mr. Poudel said, “We believe that such support will make our daily life easier and contribute to active participation in the society especially for the visually impaired people from economically weaker and underprivileged communities.”
Saugat Wagle of Sarvodaya Project said that the goal is to improve the living standard of the visually impaired, promote social inclusion and independent living.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Poudel expressed his commitment to encourage visually impaired people towards self-reliant and easy banking practices. The bank believes that such programs will contribute positively to self-confidence and social inclusion.
