Kathmandu. The death of Global IME Bank employee Pitambar Khadka has brought to the fore the issues of tension and pressure in the bank at a time when the banking sector is in turmoil. Other employees of the bank have also been terrified after Khadka passed away with the indication that he was mentally tortured by posting pictures of some senior officials through social media.
They went to the police saying that no one was listening to them.

They have alleged that there has been an unhealthy work culture in the bank for a long time and unnecessary mental pressure has been put on the employees in the pretext of not meeting the targets.
“A lot of us are under mental stress. I am afraid of being caught even more if I try to speak. After the incident of Pitambar brother, we are afraid that something will happen. Therefore, we have to seek protection from the police. One employee said, “We are afraid that we will also be in the same situation. ‘
Global IME Bank, however, has not yet made public its detailed official statement on the matter. The CEO of the bank is not in Nepal, while others accused of abetment to suicide are not in public contact.
