Kathmandu. A woman has taken a loan from a bank with her husband’s signature. A case has come to light that his wife Wanti Shahi took out a loan of Rs 50 lakh by signing the signature of her husband.
It has been revealed that Mohan Bahadur Shahi of Pokhara Metropolitan City-30, Dhungepatan of Kaski district, had taken loan from his wife Wanti Shahi and Bhadra Thapa of Surkhet by forging the signature of Mohan Bahadur Shahi.
According to police, they took a loan of Rs 50 lakh by mortgaging the bank at the branch office of Siddhartha Bank Limited in Talchowk, Kaski.
A police team deployed from Area Police Office, Shishuwa, Kaski arrested Shahi and Thapa Magar.
The Kaski District Court has remanded them in custody for five days on charges of cheating, criminal breach of trust and extortion.
