Kathmandu. Police have arrested two absconding defendants in a banking fraud case. The arrested have been identified as Sagendra Maharjan of Lalitpur and Anjan Kumar Bomjan of Sindhupalchowk.
A police team deputed from the District Police Range, Lalitpur arrested them on the charge of banking fraud.
According to the police, the Lalitpur District Court had sentenced them to jail term and fine on the banking offense.
Maharjan was slapped a one-day jail term and a fine of Rs 5,000 on Maharjan, while Bomjan was slapped a one-month jail term and a fine of Rs 200,000. They were absconding after the verdict.
They are now in police custody.
