Kathmandu. Police have arrested four persons in possession of counterfeit currency notes. A team deputed from the District Police Office arrested four persons in possession of counterfeit currency notes.
The arrestees have been identified as Bishnu Shrestha (36) of Banganga Municipality-2 of Kapilvastu, Mukti Prasad Khanal aka Sujan Khanal (28) of Devchali Municipality-15 in Nawalparasi (East), Rol Bahadur Shrestha (35) of Chautara Sangachowkgadhi Municipality-8 of Sindhupalchowk and Dipendra Thapa (53) of Budhanilkantha Municipality-9 of Kathmandu.
Information Officer of the District Police Office and Deputy Inspector of Police Krishna Kumar Chand said that the police had received special information that the Nepali currency was being smuggled in different places of the district.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team from the District Police Office and its subordinate offices arrested four persons with 21 units of counterfeit Nepali currency denomination from Siddharthanagar Municipality-5 on April 5 and Bhachkaiya of Sainamaina Municipality-10 on April 6.
