Kathmandu. The Special Court has convicted former Chairman of Nepal Bank Dr. Chandra Bahadur Adhikari on the charge of taking bribe. On September 28, the Special Court convicted Adhikari in the case.
Earlier, it was confirmed that he had taken a bribe. A case was filed against him after it was confirmed that he had taken a bribe from the borrower while giving the loan. He was also fined Rs 5 lakh after it was confirmed that he had taken the bribe.
It was found that Adhikari had demanded a bribe of Rs 50 lakh, or two percent of the loan amount, on the pretext of providing a loan of Rs 250 million to Akala Devi Traders of Tanahun.
He was also removed from the post of chairman of the board of directors of Nepal Bank after paying a fine after being proved to have taken bribes. See also:
