Nepal Bankers’ Association conducts training on customs clearance and HS code

. Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) has successfully organized a one-day training program for its customers. NBA has successfully conducted a one-day training program on ‘Knowledge Enhancement on Customs Clearance and HS Code Practice in Nepal’.

The training was attended by the employees involved in the field of trade finance working in the member banks of the association.TAG_OPEN_p_8

The objective of the training was to enhance practical knowledge on customs clearance process, Harmonized System (HS) code classification and price verification applicable in Nepal.TAG_OPEN_p_7 These issues are critical to facilitating international trade, ensuring regulatory compliance, and reducing operational risks.

The trainer of the training was Gyanendra Raj Dhakal, Director of the Department of Customs.TAG_OPEN_p_6 He shared his experience and expertise on customs administration, trade procedures and practical aspects with the participants. Director Dhakal pointed out the need for banks to pay special attention to compliance of regulatory provisions, due diligence, correct classification of HS code, customs valuation and price verification process while facilitating trade finance transactions.

Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) believes that the training will enhance the professional skills of the human resources in the banking sector as well as promote safe, transparent and effective trade finance system.
