Kathmandu. Global IME Bank is finally ready to pay the tax determined by the Inland Revenue Department, Lazimpat, Kathmandu, Large Taxpayers’ Office, Harihar Bhawan, Lalitpur by adding 1 percent. The bank has agreed to pay the tax by withdrawing the case from the Supreme Court.
A division bench of Justices Abdul Aziz Musalman and Bal Krishna Dhakal issued the order on September 28. This time, the government has decided to pay tax , additional fees, late fees orinterest by adding 1percent to the tax fixed in the budget by mid-January.
Bank had filed an application in the Supreme Court to withdraw the case filed by saying that it was ready to pay the old tax by adding 1 percent.
As per the order issued by the joint bench of the Supreme Court, the authorized representative of the bank had sought permission to withdraw the appeal in the case related to income tax (FY 2071/072).
The court allowed the appeal to be withdrawn as sought by the petition and ordered that the file be compiled and submitted to the Records Branch. View Supreme Court Order:
