Kathmandu. Today, September 19, is a public holiday. However, banks will remain open on holidays as well.
The banking service is to be operated even on public holidays in order to facilitate financial transactions required for the relief and rescue of the people affected by the devastating floods in Rasuwa district.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has directed the banks and financial institutions (BFIs) to provide essential banking services during the holidays.
Banks have also issued a notice stating that they will keep their branches open.
