Kathmandu. Karnali Province has made significant achievements in the development of sports infrastructure. The land required for the establishment of Karnali High Altitude Training Center in Jumla has been formally acquired. Coordinator of The Council of Gen Z, Prakash Khadka, handed over the ownership certificates to National Sports Council member-secretary Ramcharitra Mehta.
Lauro Bohara, Gor Bahadur Bohara and Kumbhar Bohara have provided 6,120 square meters of land in Patarasi Rural Municipality-3, Lothchaur. The program was attended by Jumla district sports chief Kabidatta Neupane and other stakeholders. The special thing is that this project was on hold since 2075 BS.
However, it was only after Prakash Khadka took the initiative that the process became active and finally became successful. Due to Khadka’s activism and coordination, the plan which was stalled for a long time has been revived and has reached the implementation phase. With this, the way has been cleared for establishment of a high-level sports training centre in Karnali region, which is expected to contribute to capacity building of not only local but national players.
