Kathmandu. With Bada Dashain approaching, there is an increase in the number of people exchanging new currency notes around Ratnapark, the main commercial and busy area of the capital.
Although Nepal Rastra Bank and other commercial banks have made arrangements for the distribution of new and dry notes, people are exchanging the notes on the pavement to avoid the hassle of standing in queues.
Sitting on the roadside of Ratnapark, businessmen are trading new notes of 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 denominations by taking commission. Even after paying some additional fees, there is also a movement of people exchanging new notes from the pavement.
