Kathmandu. KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Garima Bikas Bank has formally inaugurated its newly constructed central office at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3, Baluwatar on Wednesday. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Prof. Dr. Shyam Prasad Shrestha inaugurated the central office in the building owned by the development bank. Bishwanath Poudel inaugurated the event amidst a function.
With the inauguration of the office, the central office at Lazimpat, Kathmandu has been shifted to Baluwatar, Kathmandu. The bank had formally started its financial operations from Waling of Syangja on Kartik 1, 2064 BS and shifted its central office from Pokhara to Lazimpat of Kathmandu on April 15, 2067 BS and after being upgraded to National Level Development Bank, its central office was shifted from Pokhara to Lazimpat of Kathmandu on April 13, 2016.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the newly constructed central office, religious worship was organized along with the consecration of Shiva Panchayan in the temple constructed in the office premises. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Prof. Dr. Bishwanath Poudel, Chairman of Securities Board of Nepal Gopal Prasad Bhatta, officials of Nepal Rastra Bank and other regulatory bodies, members of Board of Directors of Garima Development Bank, former office bearers of Development Bank, senior management officials, CEOs of various banks and financial institutions, shareholders, employees and customers of the development bank ।

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of the Bank Madhav Prasad Upadhyay said that the journey started from Waling of Syangja in 2064 BS and reached Kathmandu in 2073 BS via Pokhara and with the establishment of the central office in the building owned by the Bank, the next chapter of the development bank has begun. He further stated that the bank’s successful journey comprises the trust and hard work and contribution of employees along with the trust of hundreds of thousands of customers, shareholders, regulatory bodies, business partners, and corporate governance.

Similarly, in the concluding session of the inauguration ceremony, Dilip Pratap Khand, chairman of the development bank, expressed his commitment to provide more convenient, effective and quality banking services to the customers prioritizing institutional governance, technology, innovation and sustainable development.
Currently, Garima Bikas Bank has been providing services through a network of 126 branches, 51 ATMs and state-of-the-art banking services to one million customers.
