Kathmandu. Commercial banks have earned a profit of more than Rs 8 billion. According to the data released by the Nepal Rastra Bank, in the first month of the current fiscal year 2083-84, the commercial banks have earned a profit of Rs 8.73 billion.
As many as 20 commercial banks have earned a profit of Rs 8.73 billion in the current financial year. In the previous year, the profit of commercial banks was Rs 8.38 billion. The profit of the banks increased by 4.23 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.
During the review period, Nabil Bank earned a profit of Rs 88.31 crore. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 71.64 crore in the same period of the previous year. The profit of the bank increased by 23.28 percent. Global IME Bank was the second highest profiter. The bank earned a profit of Rs 81.36 crore. The bank had earned a profit of Rs 78.45 crore in the same period of the previous year.
The profit of the bank decreased by 3.70 percent compared to the previous year.
Nepal Investment Mega Bank is in the third position. The bank has earned a profit of Rs 73.44 crore. In the previous year, the bank had earned a profit of Rs 63.42 crore. Compared to the previous year, the profit increased by 15.80 percent in the review period. Kumari Bank and Rastriya Banijya Bank earned a profit of Rs 54.70 crore.
However, Nepal SBI Bank (NSBL) has earned the lowest profit of Rs 17.59 crore in the review period.
