Kathmandu. Garima Bikas Bank, which has been involved in scamming millions of rupees in land purchase and putting customers’ money at risk by using fake software, has opened its 127th branch office in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3, Baluwatar. On the special occasion of the 19th year of the bank’s first business operation, the bank has opened its Baluwatar branch in its central office building in Baluwatar from Wednesday.
Garima Bikas Bank, which has been providing simple, safe and quality banking services from rural areas to urban areas, has opened its 127th branch office at Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Ward No. 3, Baluwatar. On the special occasion of the 19th anniversary of the first transaction of the bank on Kartik 18, 2008, the bank has opened its Baluwatar branch on Wednesday, November 3, 2083. The inauguration program was presided over by Dilip Pratap Khand, Chairman of Development Bank, Bishrut Thapa, Executive Director of Financial Institutions Supervision Department, Nepal Rastra Bank, inaugurated the Baluwatar branch.
In addition to regular banking services, customers will be able to avail ATM, locker, foreign currency exchange and other services. The development bank has been continuously expanding its branch network with the objective of increasing the access of the general public to banking services, strengthening financial inclusion and providing easy and reliable banking services to the customers.
The development bank has taken the expansion of the branch not only as an increase in the geographical presence but also as an important means of promoting local economic activities, developing entrepreneurship, mobilizing savings and expanding financial access to the productive sector. The development bank believes that the opening of the new branch in the Baluwatar area will help in providing financial services as per the needs of individual and institutional customers and to make the local economic activities more dynamic.
