KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has invited international tenders for the supply of 300 million pieces of currency coins of Rs 2 denomination. The Currency Management Department of the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a notice on Monday seeking sealed tenders from qualified security minting companies for the design, minting, supply and delivery of coins.
The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has invited bids for the production of coins through an international competitive bidding process. Eligible bidders can purchase tender documents from the Currency Management Department at Thapathali or from the Taksar Department at Babarmahal. A non-refundable fee of Rs 20,000, USD 131 or USD 115 will be fixed for the purchase of documents. Tender documents can be purchased till November 1.
The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) will hold a pre-bid meeting at the Currency Management Department at Thapathali on October 12 at 12 noon to discuss the tender process and the necessary issues. The bidders will have to submit the technical and price proposals in separate sealed envelopes to the Currency Management Department of the Rastra Bank by 12 noon on November 3.
The bid will be opened at 1 pm on the same day in the presence of the bidder’s representative. At the time of submission of the bid, a minimum deposit of 132,000 US dollars or equivalent Nepali rupees and other currencies will have to be made. The duration of the deposit will be 150 days, i.e., till April 20.
