Kathmandu. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of commercial banks will no longer be the governor of Nepal Rastra Bank.
The third amendment to the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058 BS bars the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of commercial banks from being appointed as the governor of the central bank.
With this, it has been clearly clarified in the bill that the executive director of Nepal Rastra Bank can now become the governor.
