Bank manager manhandled for not getting loan, complaint filed against Manju Regmi

Kathmandu. The manager of the Palpa branch of Himalayan Bank Limited has been accused of misbehaving and manhandling it in the office. The incident took place at around 3 pm on February 9, 2002.

According to the complaint, Manju Regmi, 45, of Meldhara, Tansen Municipality-2, had gone to the bank to take a loan of Rs 4 million.TAG_OPEN_p_11

Subedi said that the ‘land on the trail road’ was not acceptable as per the bank’s policies and regulations and that he could not provide loan.TAG_OPEN_p_10

Regmi was furious when she came to know that the loan

had been rejected. “It’s similar in other banks, why can’t it be found here?” she asked, questioning the efficiency and honesty of the manager.

As the dispute escalated, he allegedly assaulted manager Subedi, according to the complaint.TAG_OPEN_p_8

Manager Subedi has presented Ramesh Raj Bajracharya, an employee of the bank, as a witness to prove his claim and also presented CCTV footage installed in the bank premises as evidence.TAG_OPEN_p_7

The bank claims that even if there is no camera inside the office, the footage outside indicates the incident.TAG_OPEN_p_6
