Kathmandu. A total of 85 people have received treatment and counseling services through the Nabil Free Burn Treatment Camp held at the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences in Ghorahi, Dang. The camp was organized by Nabil Bank and Rapti Academy of Health Sciences in collaboration with Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital.
According to the bank, 25 people underwent surgery at the camp. Among them, 12 patients with complicated disease have been referred to the Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital in Kathmandu for further treatment. Nabil Bank has been providing free treatment and consultation to the patients suffering from burning sensation in remote areas of different provinces through its specialized doctors based in Kathmandu. Burn victims need immediate and special care. However, the victims do not get quality treatment on time due to the lack of a burn treatment center in their own place. According to the bank, the camp is being organized in an effort to improve the lives of people who are suffering from burnout by treating them.
“As a part of its corporate social responsibility, Nabil Bank has organized burn camps targeting the patients of remote areas of different provinces and the bank has provided free treatment and counseling services to around five hundred patients from far flung areas who were waiting for treatment due to lack of resources. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nabil Bank Manoj Kumar Gyawali shared.
The bank has already organized such camps in Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Madhesh provinces. Acting Director and Associate Professor of the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) Dr. Shyam Prasad Shrestha said the camp provided much relief to the burn patients at a time when special type of services related to burning sensation were not available at the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences. Suresh Rasaili said. “It’s very good to have 25 surgeries in places where this type of service is not available. I would like to thank the staff and Nabil Bank for their financial support in alleviating the pain of the patients suffering from burns.” Rasaili said. He said that he looks forward to such cooperation in the coming days as well.
Earlier, 150 people received treatment and counseling from the four-day camp organized by the bank in Madhesh Province from April 30. Similarly, 65 people received treatment and counseling at the camp held in Dhangadhi of Sudurpaschim from February 28 to 28 and 194 people received treatment and counseling at the camp held in Surkhet of Karnali Province from March 12.
