Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra Shah has addressed the House of Representatives. Prime Minister Shah informed the parliament about the loss of life and property due to the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Wednesday morning, as well as the ongoing search, rescue, treatment, relief and management of the citizens. <\/p>\n
He said that the banking sector has also been affected by the severe flood in the Bhotekoshi river in Rasuwa. More than 26 employees of various banks have been incommunicado due to the floods. The flood had swept away bank branches, cash and vaults along with customers’ collateral. Vaults of some banks swept away by the floods have been found in different places of Dhading. <\/p>\n
The banks have given priority to the search for employees, protection of assets and restoration of banking services in the affected areas. <\/p>\n
Prime Minister Shah said, “The devastating flood in Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa on August 10 snatched our parents, sisters and brothers from us in a moment. I pay heartfelt tribute to all those who lost their lives in this unimaginable calamity. \u2019<\/p>\n
“There is no freedom to take rest because the body is tired. There is no time to lament with each other even when the heart is broken. We have accepted the reality that in this hour of crisis, the leadership of the country should give courage and confidence to the people, not tears, so we have no other option but to fight this calamity with determination and courage.
