Kathmandu. Rajendra Shrestha, defendant in Prabhu Bank fraud case, has given statement. Defendant Rajendra Shrestha has stated that he used to send signatures in various documents in the name of Shishir Poudyal, the then chairman of Asian Village Resort Pvt Ltd. <\/p>\n

During the statement, Shrestha said that he used to send Shishir Poudyal’s documents after receiving instructions from the head office to send the signatures on various documents while issuing loans. <\/p>\n

According to him, after that, Poudyal paid around Rs. 1000 in the name of Asian Village Resort Pvt. Ltd. He was introduced after applying for a loan of Rs 48 crore. He said that he got acquainted with Sharma in 2020 and also got acquainted with him while issuing loans in the name of other companies. <\/p>\n

Shrestha claimed that although he was known to the concerned persons in connection with the bank’s work, he did not have any personal transactions with them. <\/p>\n

He said that he started working at Prabhu Bank Limited on January 12, 2016. He said that he initially started working as a supervisor and has been working in the same post till now after his name was announced as a junior officer through internal advertisement in 2076 BS. <\/p>\n

The CIB has also recorded statements of six other bankers, including five bankers, who have been booked in connection with the Rs 48 crore fraud case. Dipendra Babu Bista working in the marketing department of the bank and 6 other bankers have also given statements in the case of Prabhu Bank. <\/p>\n
