Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Tahir Ali Bhat has urged the government to address the demands of the victims’ demands of meter interest and microfinance. <\/p>\n
He made this demand while speaking in the House of Representatives. <\/p>\n
He drew the attention of the government to the fact that 450 meter interest and microfinance victims have been staging a sit-in near the office of the National Human Rights Commission at Harihar Bhawan for a long time. He also demanded that the government immediately fix the ceiling of the interest to be paid, saying the victims are tired of paying meter interest. <\/p>\n
Although the government has signed separate agreements with two groups of microfinance victims, some of the victims have continued their agitation. <\/p>\n
“Today, I went to the office of the National Human Rights Commission, Harihar Bhawan. There are about 450 meter interest and microfinance victims living there. They have come from all over the country. They are tired of paying meter interest. Now all that remains is for them to sacrifice their lives. Therefore, how much interest will the government pay to the meter interest victims? How much will you pay? The government should be serious about this.
