Kathmandu. The Delhi High Court has ordered the dissolution of Paytm Payments Bank. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has ordered the dissolution of Paytm Payments Bank Limited. <\/p>\n
Paytm Payments Bank Ltd has entered the liquidation process after the RBI concluded that it had consistently violated regulatory norms.TAG_OPEN_p_12 <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
According to the RBI, the court, through its orders dated July 8 and July 22, 2026, directed to proceed with the process of liquidation of PPBL under the Bank Regulation Act, 1949 and the Companies Act, 2013.TAG_OPEN_p_11 <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The RBI had cancelled the banking licence of PPBL in April 2026.TAG_OPEN_p_10 The central bank had revoked the bank’s license, arguing that the bank’s activities were against the interests of depositors and continued compliance with regulatory rules. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
At that time, it had also announced that it would go to court to completely dissolve the bank. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Supreme Court has appointed Giri Kumar M Nair, former chief general manager of State Bank of India (SBI), as the official liquidator of PPBL.TAG_OPEN_p_8 According to the RBI, the liquidator has been granted all legal powers under the Bank Regulation Act and the Companies Act. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
