Kathmandu. Kumari Bank and Lumbini World Peace Forum jointly organized a tree plantation programme in Harion. Kumari Bank Limited in collaboration with Lumbini World Peace Forum for environmental protection and sustainable development. A special afforestation programme was held at Chapani area of Ward No. 8. <\/p>\n
A total of 500 fruit saplings including 250 mangoes and 250 jackfruit saplings were planted as a fit fit for local soil and environment. <\/p>\n
The event was organized as part of the ’10 Lakh Tree Plantation and Conservation Campaign’ being conducted by Lumbini World Peace Forum. The campaign was launched from Ilam district (Koshi Province) on June 5 on the occasion of World Environment Day. <\/p>\n
Under this partnership, a total of 1,800 saplings have been planted in four districts of Ilam (Koshi Province), Bardiya (Lumbini Province), Lamjung (Gandaki Province) and Sarlahi (Madhes Province). <\/p>\n
Mayor of Harion Municipality Ramesh Budhathoki, along with the chief minister of Harion Municipality, Ramesh Budhathoki, said the saplings were planted at Hariban Municipality Ward No. Ward Chairman of Ward No. 8 Prajwal Dhungana, founder of Lumbini World Peace Forum and coordinator of ‘1 million Tree Plantation and Conservation Campaign’ Basu Gautam among others were present on the occasion. <\/p>\n
