It has been revealed that various branches of the country&#8217;s big banks, microfinance, and finance companies are using internet packages that are being sold without the approval of WorldLink. Although most of the banks have internet connection through a one-door system, WorldLink has been revealed to have added packages that are not approved in some branches. <\/p>\n<p>For the past one year, WorldLink has been openly selling monthly, quarterly and annual packages of 200, 250 and 300 Mbps. These packages are being used in various branches of banks, financial institutions, insurance companies and microfinance. <\/p>\n<p>As financial institutions share millions of customers&#8217; data and sensitive information, the legality and regulatory compliance of their internet services has become more critical. <\/p>\n<p><strong>What does the law say? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to Section 42 of the Telecommunication Act, 2053, any telecommunication service provider has to get the concerned service charge or tariff approved by the Nepal Telecommunication Authority before collecting the fee from the customer. Similarly, before implementing a new fee or package, a proposal should be submitted to the Authority for approval and only after the approval should the customer be informed and implemented. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30749 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/bankingsansar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/wlink-dafa.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"996\" height=\"917\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bankingsansar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/wlink-dafa.png 996w, https:\/\/bankingsansar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/wlink-dafa-300x276.png 300w, https:\/\/bankingsansar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/wlink-dafa-768x707.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 996px) 100vw, 996px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However, WorldLink is selling packages with various offers without taking approval. <\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the regulatory authority has also admitted that it has come to know about such activities, while WorldLink has given a surprising answer that it was forced to do wrong due to the delay of the authority. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
